Communication Skills

Communication skills can make or break any relationship – with friends, family members, partners, or even co-workers. Communicating well means you can get your point across clearly and mastering the art of listening shows other people that you care about what they have to say. Experiencing a variety of NDIS community participation activities help in developing your communication skills with other people.

Storytelling has always been a big part of society and relationships. First Nations people use stories that date back tens of thousands of years to pass history and culture from one generation to the next.
At Avocadocare, we use stories to talk about real issues and real lives.
We believe in giving people with disability, mental health, or psychosocial issues a place to share their stories, which can help bring people together. There are lots of positives to sharing your story and, depending on what you are cool with, many different ways to do it.

Our Story Matters

Ever listened to someone talk about their life and thought ‘Oh, someone else has been through that, too? I thought it was just me!’ Finding similarities with other people helps us live happy and healthy lives. Your life may feel ordinary to you, but it might seem extraordinary to someone else. Every story shared is a chance to make someone feel less alone.

Our Story Matters

Avocadocare Provider of NDIS Social and Community Participation Activities Around Victoria

How do we do it?
Where we can, we create groups of people of the same age and areas of interest. We run activities on weekdays and weekends.
Our assistance with social and community participation activities can be individually or in a group, in your home or at our training hub, depending on what you need or are interested in. We also offer innovative community participation in NDIS that can specifically help you achieve your life goals.
What is not covered?
This is where Social and Community Participation funding can get a little tricky. You can’t generally use your NDIS funding to pay for the cost of tuition, courses, or classes such as a woodworking class.
Keep in mind, the following are generally not covered by the NDIS:
